Wow, this gorgeous chestnut mare has the looks, pedigree, temperament, and athleticism to do it all!
Aquila is a bold, athletic, and fun ride who absolutely loves to jump. She easily schools 2’6” courses, as well as Beginner Novice cross country questions without batting an eye. She has tons of scope and grit to go higher!
She is excellent with water, banks, drops, and ditches. Her lovely flat work makes her an eventing prospect as well as a candidate for all three rings in the H/J world. “Q” has show miles and has attended clinics, off-farm lessons, and demonstrations around New England.
Aquila is also a spectacular trail partner who enjoys hacking alone or in a group. She self loads and is always eager to go places. This girl is always ready for new adventures.
She is seeking a fun rider who wants to continue honing her skills. This very special mare would love to compete or just be your partner in crime. With birdcatcher spots, flashy markings, and a solid build, Aquila makes a splash wherever she goes. A barn favorite, Aquila relishes attention, grooming and spa days. She has excellent barn manners, turns out well with others, and so on. Our farriers and veterinarians continually comment on how nice she is to work with.
Her partner will receive the gift of a very special mare who will make a splash anywhere she goes.
How did Aquila get her name? Shortly after she arrived, we realized that she is too classy and elegant a mare to be called “Sugar”, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to call her “Princess” (although she is one). She has little white spots on her left side that look like stars. We wondered if they might look like a constellation, so we looked it up and found that her markings resemble the constellation, Aquila! Voila, her barn name. We think she likes it.
Aquila is the granddaughter of the famous multiple graded stakes winner, Unbridled, who won the 1990 Kentucky Derby, finished second that year in the Preakness Stakes and won the Breeders Cup Classic.
